Now Shipping to India
Rally Raid Products is excited to announce we're now offering shipping to India for the very first time. Riders there can finally get their hands on our full range of parts built for the KTM 390 Adventure R and Enduro R (2025+), the Triumph Scrambler 400X, and the Speed 400. These bikes are manufactured in India, so our parts are landing right alongside the machines they're built for. And with Triumph's 400 family now growing further with the Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400 both joining the line-up, we're hoping to bring Rally Raid Products support to those bikes as well in the near future!
Where it started...
This story really begins back in 2024, when we first brought out parts for the Triumph Scrambler 400X. Almost immediately, we started hearing from riders in India: a steady stream of interest from a customer base we hadn't expected and, at the time, couldn't properly serve. The bikes were being built there, the riders were there, and the demand was clearly there too. What wasn't there yet was a way to get them our products without handing them a headache at the border. Shipping into India came with real uncertainty: unclear customs processes and, on top of that, tariffs steep enough to make total price a guessing game. The last thing we want is for our customers to recieve unexpectedly large tariff bills.
The turning point...
That changed in July 2025, when the UK and India signed the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), a trade deal aimed at cutting tariffs across dozens of sectors, automotive parts among them. It didn't flip a switch overnight, but it gave us something we hadn't had before: a clear path. From that point on, we started the behind-the-scenes work to bring DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping to various countries as well as India, building out the backend so that, at checkout, an Indian customer would see one number and know that was the number: total cost, all duties and taxes included, no surprises waiting at customs.
Why now?
That work came to a head on 15th July 2026, when the CETA officially entered into force. With the tariff reductions now active and our DDP infrastructure ready, we can finally do what we've wanted to do since 2024: make our parts properly, reliably available to riders in India. So what do you do now? Find your favourite products you've been waiting for and order them just like anything else. Delivered Duty Paid
If you're ordering from Rally Raid Products and shipping to India, you'll see DDP SHIPPING (Delivered Duty Paid) pricing at checkout. This page explains what that means in practice, why there's sometimes a short verification step before delivery, and where your money actually goes.
What "Delivered Duty Paid" actually promises
DDP means the price you pay at checkout is the final price. Import duties, customs surcharges, and India's import tax are all calculated and included upfront. When your order arrives, you don't pay anything further to customs, your courier, or anyone else to release it — no surprise bill, no unexpected call from a courier asking for money before they'll hand over your parcel.
Where the extra cost on your order comes from
India applies import charges in layers, not as a single flat rate. For every order, the total is built up like this:
- Basic Customs Duty (BCD) — a percentage of your order's value, set according to the product's customs classification (HS code).
- Social Welfare Surcharge (SWS) — 10% of the BCD amount, not of your order value.
- Integrated GST (IGST) — India's import-equivalent of GST, calculated last on top of the previous two.
None of this is a markup we're adding. It's what Indian customs requires to release any commercial shipment, regardless of value. (India has no low-value exemption the way some countries do.) Import duty and tax calculations are powered by Shopify, using each product's customs classification, and we pay them on your behalf before your order ever reaches Indian customs.
A note on the recent UK-India trade agreement
The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) came into force in 15th July 2026 and is gradually reducing these duty rates on a wide range of UK-made goods entering India. Where our products qualify for the lower CETA rate rather than the standard rate, we pass that saving through to the India-facing price rather than pocketing the difference. Rates vary by product and are still being phased in over several years for some categories, so pricing may adjust over time as more of our range becomes eligible.
A one-time ID check (KYC)
Indian customs law requires anyone receiving an international parcel to complete a one-time identity check, known as KYC (Know Your Customer), before the parcel can legally be released. This isn't something we or our courier can waive; it's a requirement under India's customs and anti-money-laundering regulations, and it applies to every courier and every retailer shipping into India, not just us.
Here's what that means for you in practice:
- First order to India: our customs clearance partner will contact you directly (by email, SMS, or WhatsApp) asking for a government-issued photo ID and proof of address. Any single document that covers both is enough.
- After that: you won't be asked again. Once your ID is on file with our clearance partner, it's reused for any future order to the same name and address.
- If you don't respond: the shipment cannot be released by customs, which may result in delays, additional handling, or the parcel not being delivered. If you receive a KYC request, please respond as quickly as possible to avoid this.
- Delivery to someone else: customs requires the ID of the actual person the parcel is addressed to. If you're having something delivered to a friend or family member's address in India, the KYC request will go to them, not to you.
To avoid delays, please make sure the name, address, and contact details you enter at checkout exactly match a valid ID you (or your recipient) can provide if asked.
Why we're sharing this
Import charges and identity checks are requirements of shipping into India, not a Rally Raid policy — every international retailer shipping there is subject to the same rules.
