KTM 690 HEAVY-DUTY FOOTREST HANGER BOLTS

Developed from our long-term Rally Racing & Overland Travel experience with the KTM 690 Enduro.

The OEM cast footrest hangers are attached to the main frame with four M8 hex-head bolts. Unfortunately the recess in the hangers are too small diameter to use the 10mm socket supplied with the KTM toolkit, while using the Torx feature in the bolt-head does not allow for adequate purchase for tightening or undoing, especially if Loctite is used.

In addition, both hanger bolts screw into threaded inserts welded to the frame, which long-term can become detached, making it near impossible to remove the footrest hangers without special workshop tools.

By replacing the OEM hex-head bolts with our M8 cap-head bolts, you now have much great purchase available with a traditional Allen key. They are also slightly longer than the OEM bolts, allowing for the fitment of a Nyloc nut on the inside of the front bolt on each side - helping to prevent any loosening whilst riding.
