KTM 390 ADV R / ENDURO R UPRATED OEM REAR SHOCK SPRING

The OEM shock spring fitted to the WP shock is 105 N/mm spring rate which is ideal for a 85-99kg rider.

Our most simple and affordable solution is to upgrade the stock spring, we offer a range of direct replacement linear-wound springs and spacers to properly support the rider, together with a passenger and/or luggage.

We recommend basing your spring selection on your most common riding weight and and extra non-standard permanent accessories. An example is shown below. 

Examples:

A typical commuter wanting a replacement shock unit:

Everyday riding weight (100kg) = 90kg rider + 5kg Clothing + 5kg backpack full of snacks. 

Plus

Permanent Modifications (9kg)= Rear rack (OEM was 2kg, new 5kg = an extra 3kg) + top box 4kg (+2kg average contents)

Total weight (109kg), therefore select 120N/mm that covers the range between 100kg-115kg. 

All weight ranges are based on using the middle of springs preload positions. This allows us to reserve some adjustment in the lower end should you lose weight/really lighten your load and for up to 15kg extra luggage in the upper end.

95N/mm - Up to 70kg riding weight
100N/mm - 70kg - 85kg riding weight
120N/mm - 100kg - 115kg riding weight
130N/mm - 115kg plus

Note: All the of the above allow for an extra 15kg of luggage in the upper three preload positions.

When you select this service, you will be sent a tracked shipping label to send your shock. Once we receive your shock, we will install the new spring and set it to the midpoint of your requested preload range. Any additional items purchased with this service will be held until the spring installation is complete. All items including your shock and original spring, will then be shipped together.
